These teens just keep have more and more fun.  This quarter they met at several different homes and also participated in the March of Dimes Walk-a-Thon. 

Used Curriculum Sale 2006

Fantastic!  We had a 25% increase in tables and a 30% increase in revenue.  New Venders are interested in the coming to next year's event because of the numbers were having.  How Wonderful!  Mark your calendars for next year's sale on June 16, 2007!!!

Our teen group is thriving!  They've been meeting every month and having a ball.  These three months they have been to a couple of restaurants just to eat together and chill and then they also went to Lights Off Golf and had a blast!

Open HEART Meeting, March 23rd

We held our first semi-annual meeting which was open to ALL Homeschoolers.  It was wonderful!  We discussed the new membership fees for Tier I Support Groups and Tier II Resources.  We got an exciting update on the upcoming Used Curriculum Sale and also the plans the teens were making to raise fund for the March of Dimes Walk-a-Thon in April.  So much happening!

We had a great time at Putt-Putt Fun Center and the weather could not have been any nicer!  A perfect Fall evening with friends!  We really could have JUST ridden the Go-Carts ALL night but the chance for a hole-in-one was calling our names!  And some of us answered the call!  This evening out has become a wonderful kick off to our school years.  We all look forward to it each year.  Just look at all the happy faces in these pictures:  http://www.heartofwt.org/EVENTS10.html

Quarterly Meeting on November 3rd

Very abbreviated meeting.

Smoothing the Way

This ministry to first year homeschoolers was out at Mardel's on July 9th to offer help to anyone who needed it.  What a wonderful blessing this group is to our homeschooling community!

This was a great thing for Mardel's to do for homeschoolers.  We hope they will continue to do something like this every year.

Used Curriculum Sale 2005

This just keeps getting bigger and better.  And with the inclusion of a Health Fair done by the TTUHSC School of Nursing it was a fantastic success!  We had approx 77 booths for the UCS and Health Fair and over 300 people attended (which is about double of 2004).  We look forward to next year's event on June 17, 2006.  Here are pictures of this year's event:  http://www.heartofwt.org/EVENTS8.html

Quarterly Meeting on August 11th

We discussed the success of the UCS, planned a Fall Family Fun Night, and Psalm 119 announced they would be hosting a History Fair in November.

Even though many of our gatherings for the teens are for just fun and fellowship, this recent meeting held a little more significance.  The teens gathered specific items requed by a local ministry and were able to minster to many families in need.  Way to go HEART Attack!

Quarterly Meeting on May 12th

We discussed the upcoming Expo at Mardel's, the upcoming Used Curriculum Sale, and another Fall Family Fun Night at Putt-Putt.

As we headed into the holiday months of November and December our group activities slowed way down to make room for gatherings with our friends and families.  We enjoyed the quiet time and were ready to make a full swing at the beginning of the new year. 

Smoothing the Way Orientation, Saturday, January 15th

This great opportunity was held at Mardel Christian & Educatinal Supply.  It was a wonderful step for first time homeschoolers. 

Winter Family Fun Night at Gattiland

What a great time of Fun, Food and Fellowship!  Okay, maybe a little too much food, but it was a great time to be had by all.  Hope everyone can keep watching for the next Family Night Out and join in the fun.  These fellowships are open to all members of our Tier I Support Groups as well as all homeschooling families connected with any of our Tier II Resource Members.  So spread the word of the fun to be had when we all get together.

Quarterly Meeting on February 3rd

We discussed the upcoming events like the Used Curriculum Sale and Expo at Mardel's in the summer months.  Psalm 119 Homeschool Fellowship also announced their hosting of a Homeschool Science Fair to be held in April.

All HEART families who attended the Family Fun Night at Putt-Putt on August 26th had an absolutely fantastic time!!  We met just after the supper hour and just had a blast until after 10 PM.  There was a MASSIVE golf game with all the kids playing one course.  Wow, what a scoring challenge that was!  Then on to the Bumper Boats - and what a big splash that was.  Even the parents were soaking each other!  The evening was rounded off by a race around the Go-Cart course.  Avoiding each other AND the curves proved to be a competitive sport.  All in all the evening was a HUGHE success.  One thing we all agreed on...LET'S DO IT AGAIN!  Here are some of our pictures from that night:  http://www.heartofwt.org/EVENTS6.html

America's Walk for Diabetes

HEART once again stepped out in service by participating in the American Diabetes Association's Walk for Diabetes on Saturday, September 11th.  Our team worked hard before the day of the walk to raise over $1200 to fight a diseas that efects so many of our HEART families.  Look here:  http://www.heartofwt.org/EVENTS4.html

Homeschool See You At The Pole

What an exciting time was shared at the first annual Homeschool See You At The Pole.  Several dozen attended the rally held on Wednesday, September 15th at the Lubbock Area Veteran's War Memorial.  Representaing HEART attack, teens lead a time of prayer for America's leadership and our upcoming elections, our soldiers-past and present-who have helped to pay for our freedom, and the issues and concerns that face our families as we homeschool.  Individual teens shared a scripture and then led in a time of prayer, focusing on each area of concern.  The entire group said the Pledge of Allegiance, with a resounding "UNDER GOD" followed by a great rendition of "God Bless America".  The time was concluded with a prayer of thanksgiving for the blessings of life and liberty afforded to all of us by our Heavenly Father.  Great pictures of this event are here:  http://www.heartofwt.org/EVENTS5.html

Quarterly Meeting on November 4th

We discussed the growing activities of HEART Attack and various ways to promote HEART.  It was an abbreviated meeting due to illnesses.

Quarterly Meeting on Thursday, August 5th

We discussed the success of the Used Curriculum Sale and had ideas about the event next year.  Excitement is growning about all the fun the teens are having at their monthly HEART Attack gatherings.  And plans were made for a Fall Family Fun Night to kick off the school year.

Quarterly Meeting

We held our Quarterly Meeting on Thursday, May 13th.  We discussed the upcoming Used Curriculum Sale, events coming up at Mardels, the ADA walk to be held on Sept 11th and a Family Nite Out in August, and our teens are meeting once a month, too.  So much to look forward to.
